UNREAL ENGINE 5 AT REBELS

Rebels is always trying to keep up with the latest technologies. Whether that’s blockchain technologies, Virtual Reality technologies or simulation software, we make sure we know our stuff.
I love using Unreal Engine. Once you get used to its workflows, it can assist you in doing your work in many fields of expertise. Whether it is used for architecture, car advertisements, cinematics, or game development, Unreal Engine offers robust systems and features to help you create something epic. Below I will explain the four biggest game changers.

Nanite is one of the newest features that has been added to Unreal Engine 5. With Nanite, the level of detail and poly count have become irrelevant. You get the freedom to make your scenes as detailed as you want. This is useful in photorealistic games or digital backgrounds for movies.

Lumen is the new and improved lighting system. It allows for much more lighting to be handled in real-time, allowing quick swapping of the time of day in scenes or better interactions between light and fog.

The new Chaos Physics engine allows for real-time destruction of environmental objects, allowing things such as collapsing buildings, mountain avalanches, and much more. It adds a whole new level of environmental interaction to games and movies alike.

Lastly, the Niagara particle system drastically improves the performance of particles within the system. Niagara also has much more interactivity for the particles, allowing them to be used for things such bat swarms who navigate around a cave, or dynamic footsteps, depending on what kind of surface the player is walking.
With these new systems, Unreal Engine 5 is shaping up to be a next generation game engine. At Rebels, we will be integrating it further into our projects, to provide the best quality and performance for our products.
